Olive and Theo visit Butter Bakery, where Poppy shares that due to her sister’s illness, she must close the bakery and return to London. Auntie Winnie offers to manage the bakery in her absence. Meanwhile, the Misfits analyze their failed gala mission in the Laundry Room. Phil introduces new inventions and requests faculty lounge access in order to prevent any further communication failures. Modest and Monica agree. The team follows a lead to San Francisco, searching for the Winky brooch. Most jewelry stores are closed, and the team notes that lost cat flyers and KittyKon advertisements cover every surface. They briefly suspect that Sterling Vanderwisp is the Bling King, but they doubt that he has the intelligence to orchestrate the heists. Modest instructs them to gather intel only and forbids them from confiscating any jewelry.
After three hours of searching, Olive and James find the Winky brooch at Benny’s Pawn Shop. Jinx, a young woman with a butterscotch-colored Himalayan cat, tells them to call if they need her. They step outside to celebrate, but when they return, the brooch is gone, and someone has ransacked the jewelry case. James searches behind the store and sees Jinx driving away.
